Gert will play again with high level AEROSMITH Tributeband AEROFORCE ONE on the 29th of June next at BOSUIL

As from now Gert will participate in this brand new high level AEROSMITH Tributeband. GIGS are already sceduled and more to follow!

ROXX DOWN will play again!

ROXX DOWN was intended to be a one off Cover project with Gert, singer Ian Parry, drummer Hans in 't Zandt and bass player Gerard Gubbels! However: Gert is very pleased to announce that:

John "Jaycee" Cuijpers

took over the vocals from Ian Parry, Ian expects to be too busy with his brand new Classic rock project ROCK EMPORIUM.
Jaycee is a very experienced singer who has done so many projects like for instance AYREON and has toured with great names in the business like f.i. TOTO, Jeff Scott Soto etc.
Jaycee has also been the front man for number one THIN LIZZY tribute band PARRIS for more than 10 years and as from 2011 he is also the front man for the new IRON MAIDEN tribute HARRIS.

The first date that can be announced is the 18th of May 2013 at Muziekcafé De Fles in Spijkenisse.
More dates will be announced soon!

This is gonna be a blast!

AN UPDATE!

I am now also present on the WWW through Facebook.

Furthermore I managed to do 2 shows with 2 different bands in 2 different countries IN ONE DAY, and managed it to do just fine I guess... On the 11th of September I first played with HIGHWAY CHILE at Baroeg Open Air and later that day I headlined with PICTURE at Swordbrother Festival in Germany. You can find links to very nice pictures of both events in the PICTURES section.

Furthermore: PICTURE is going strong and thus you can expect news about the band very soon! Don't forget to visit one of the live GIGS of the band in meantime if you are in for some serious ROCK 'N ROLL!

Oh! By the way, forget the rumours about the end of HIGHWAY CHILE for now as the band has been confirmed to headline at MEESTERLIJK METAAL 9  at De Meester in Almere in April next year!

A lot has happened the last year in my personal life. Occupational matters, tragic family matters and, last but not least, health matters have had the best of me in this period of time.

Still things are not quite what they suppose to be but now for the GOOD NEWS!

It is with great proud and joy that I announce I have joined the great and FIRST DUTCH METAL BAND EVER....

Gert has joined a brand new band / Project called

This NEW Symphonic/Progressive Rock/Metalband with super-singer John Zwaan (Johnny Zign- ex-Miracle, THE Queen tribute band from the Netherlands), musical Chilopoda Rob Sierdsema and prog-drummer pur sang Marco David will write that new prog-album that will (......after Kayak) make Progressive Holland proud again!

It has been a while since I updated here so here it is...

HEADS DOWN will do a show in my hometown Breda at the Harleydag 2009! It has been a while since HD played so we are very eager to play all those great classics once again in front of a great crowd at het Kasteelplein! You do not want to miss this one! Because Noel has obligations abroad Erik Stout will once again take his place behind the drums!

After summer recess HIGHWAY CHILE will continue the KEEPER OF THE EARTH tour and writing process for a successor of KotE is in early stages!

I have teamed up with Will Schut, Jeroen van Maanen (ex-NovAct) and our own Ernst van Ee (HIGHWAY CHILE, HELLOISE ROB ORLEMANS) to make a recording of a really great instrumental song to appear on a charity CD!

More in the making... will keep you informed!

New year New treats...

First of all I want to wish you all a great New Year! That all you wish for to happen in 2009 will come through! As long as that wish is decent off course ;)

And, what will the new year bring for me musically? Well, hopefully, a lot of goodies! so let me tell you what is already in the making!

HIGHWAY CHILE will continue the KEEPER OF THE EARTH tour in 2009 with already a good bunch of gigs confirmed, and lot more in the making, thanks to Erik Prins of MAM Agency! Go see this band live in 2009! Reviews about the CD presentation in Tilburg December last on Digital Steel and Lords of Metal!

HEADS DOWN will continue to bring superb classic rock covers to your town as much as possible (see gigs). If you have never seen this band with a.o. superb vocalist IAN PARRY live, go and see them while you can and quick!

Furthermore, some nice recordings are scheduled for several charity events:

Pre recording is already done for a song for a possible release in 2009 for a Jason Becker Tribute CD that would also contain tracks of other guitarists like for instance. Kee Marcello, Chris Caffery and Mattias IA Eklundh to name just a few. HEADS DOWN drummer Noel van Eersel plays the drums. Bass duties will be done by HD bassist Arjo Miedema.

Another song that is co-written with guitarist extraordinaire Will Schut will be recorded later this year at his home studio and will appear on another charity album. More on that later!

Last but not least: A lot of things are being considered but not yet certain so keep your eyes and ears open because... anything is possible in 2009 :)

Update on HIGHWAY CHILE

New reviews (f.i. OOR) and interviews (f.i. in Rocktribune) for KEEPER OF THE EARTH are coming in as we speak and the December issue of Dutch leading Hard Rock/Heavy Metal magazine AARDSCHOK will also contain an interview about the new album! Also new gigs for 2009 are planned with f.i. VENGEANCE, MENNEN and VALENTINE!

Furthermore KEEPER OF THE EARTH is to be released officially in Germany on the 23rd of January!

CD RELEASE PARTY IN TILBURG!

The official release party for the new HIGHWAY CHILE cd KEEPER OF THE EARTH will be on the 11th of december next at La-Vida in Tilburg! Expect a lot of surprises!

As Special Guest the great band MENNEN will be present and as Support band the Female fronted Hard Rock band LOST INSANITY!

There will also be an acoustic instore gig at Sounds in Tilburg in the afternoon.
